The iPhone 15 Series Overview: Faster, Better, More Affordable

In this blog post, we provide a concise and informative overview of the latest models in the iPhone 15 series. From price reductions to powerful features, we offer a quick glance at the noteworthy changes and differences between the various models. Discover why the new iPhones are not only more powerful but also more affordable, and learn about the improvements they bring. Let's dive in and explore the highlights of the iPhone 15 series.

Good news for Apple enthusiasts: the new iPhone 15 generation is not only more powerful but also more affordable than its predecessors. The entry-level model, the iPhone 15, is already available for 949 euros, which is 50 euros less than the previous iPhone 14. The iPhone 15 Pro is even 100 euros cheaper, priced at 1199 euros. The price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max remains steady at 1449 euros, but its storage has been doubled to 256 gigabytes.

In practical testing, it becomes evident that the standard model, the iPhone 15, can keep up with the previous year's Pro model in many aspects. Both models are powered by the A16 Bionic chipset, which was already used in the iPhone 14 Pro.

Both models offer an excellent OLED display with a brightness of nearly 2000 nits, making them ideal for outdoor use. They also inherit the innovative 'Dynamic Island' design from their predecessor to conceal the selfie camera cutout.

However, a distinction between the Pro and non-Pro models becomes apparent in the screen department, with a fixed refresh rate of 60 Hertz on the iPhone 15 compared to the Pro models' dynamic adjustment ranging from 1 to 120 Hertz. This not only conserves energy but also provides a seamless user experience, particularly during gaming.

Another distinction lies in the USB-C port, where the Pro models support USB 3.0 with speeds of up to 10 Gbps, while the iPhone 15 is limited to USB 2.0 speeds. Additionally, charging the iPhone 15 is slower, with a maximum output of 25 watts.

iPhone 15 Pro Max - USB-C

Despite the iPhone 15 Pro being equipped with the A17 Pro chipset and a 3-nanometer manufacturing process, it does not offer a longer battery life compared to its predecessors. However, it does utilize 100 percent recycled cobalt in its batteries and allows for easier back cover replacement.

The iPhone 15 Pro is marketed as a mobile gaming console, and although games with impressive graphics and ray-tracing effects are available, they do not run in full console resolution. Camera features have been enhanced, and Smart HDR 5 enables impressive photos with natural colors.

The iPhone 15 also introduces an innovative method to enhance wide-angle shots and provides a 2x zoom. For a 3x optical zoom, users would need to opt for the more expensive Pro models.

Overall, the iPhone 15 models are more powerful and budget-friendly than their predecessors. They offer extended software support and contribute to reducing electronic waste, thanks to the use of USB-C. However, the lower refresh rate on the entry-level devices is a drawback that may need reconsideration in future models.
